Wedding fashion: from red carpet to the aisle

Wedding fashion: from red carpet to the aisle

I was following this years award season fashion more than usually –  I found myself clicking through the best and worst dressed lists right the next morning. One thing to watch on these lists are ideas for the wedding gowns – where’s a better spot to pick up the hottest elegant fashion trends? This year I have selected a few personal favorite dresses from the Golden globes, Grammy’s and Academy awards (Oscars) that could easily transfer from the red carpet to the aisle for anyone’s wedding. Among the “winners” are Reese Witherspoon, Marion Cotillard, Juliane Moore and the funny model Chrissy Teigen. What were your favorites?

Reese Witherspoon in Calvin Klein Collection on the Golden Globes 2015 red carpet.

I love Reese and I love the silver color, the feminine silhouette and the shimmer! Perfect for an elegant wedding.

Elegance and simplicity. The black details at the shoulders and waist make the look edgier, but non the less elegant.

Chrissy Teigen in Emilio Pucci at the Grammy awards 2015

Not following Chrissy Teigen on Twitter or Instagram yet? Do it now! As for the dress – great for a fall or winter wedding, modern and sexy – what else do you need?

Chrissy Teigen in Zuhair Murad at the Golden Globe awards 2015

Everything is perfect about the dress. The color, the sparkle, the embellishments, the line, I would want to wear it everywhere and every day! It’s Zuhair Murad, duuh

Camila Alves in Monique Lhuillier at the Golden Globes 2015

I think this dress would work perfectly for someone who loves minimalism and timeless elegance. It doesn’t have to be pink (but why not?) and it’s just amazing how beautiful the bare shoulders can look.

Marion Cotillard in Dior at the Academy awards 2015

Marion Cotillard is one of my favorite actresses of all times (La vie En Rose anyone?). Though this Dior dress she wore on the Oscars 2015 red carpet was not praised by anyone I just love how great it looks on her. If you’d fear the look being “too bagy” for your wedding day taking it in on the waist line could work miracles. I also adore that it does not have deep neckline because why should it?!

Jhene Aiko in Alberta Ferretti at the Grammy’s 2015

Okay, I still don’t know who this girl is, but I think that this dress is perfect for a fun girly-girl wedding. Beautiful, light, not white (thought it could be), outdoorsy – just great.

Rosamund Pike in Vera Wang at the Golden Globe’s 2015

Rosemund is so pretty. I could look at her all day! This dress is very revealing, but also romantic. White some tweaks it would be an amazing choice for a brave modern bride.

Jennifer Hudson in Tom Ford at the Grammy awards 2015

Jennifer Hudson has a great sense of style and this Tom Ford dress she wore at the Grammy’s 2015 is a lovely choice for a small city wedding or an elopement. Sleek and short, because not all wedding dresses have to wipe the floor!

Diane Kruger in Emilia Wickstead at the Golden globe awards 2015

German beauty Diane Kruger is a fashion icon. I love silver or grey for weddings. This is how a fashionista wedding gown would look like. Modern and classic at ones. A winner.

Julianne Moore in Chanel designed by Karl Lagerfeld at the Oscars 2015

Julianne Moore is a goddess. She’s an extraordinary actress and a fashion icon. The Chanel gown is a perfect inspiration for a lavish wedding. Maybe minus the hip embellishment.

Kate Hudson in Atelier Versace at the Golden Globes 2015

Funny and hot – that’s Kate Hudson for ya. If you’re opting for “wowing” at your wedding and are not afraid of a bit of cleavage this Atelier Versace dress could be the one. I love how it’s sexy, but not shocking, elegant, but not boring.
