About Us

This is what I think most planners get wrong: they sell every couple the wedding the industry sells them. We do the opposite.

We figure out what you actually want — usually less than what you came in asking for — and protect you from everything that doesn't matter.

I'm Milda. I founded Dalmatia Weddings 15 years ago and run it today with Mario and Irene.

In 15 years, we've planned over 200 weddings in Croatia — for couples from the UK, Germany, Australia, the US, the Nordics, and more. Most of them were on the Dalmatian coast: Split, Hvar, Vis, Brač, Šolta, Trogir. A few elsewhere when it made sense for the couple.

I started Dalmatia Weddings 15 years ago after planning events in a few other industries and realising weddings were what I actually wanted to do. Since then I've planned over 200 of them — most on the Dalmatian coast.

What I'm like to work with: I have strong opinions and I share them, including the unpopular ones. I'll tell you when something isn't going to work before you commit to it — that's the part of this job I take most seriously. Our team responds personally to every enquiry, and I stay personally involved in every wedding we plan.

When I'm not planning weddings I travel, love a good workout, an addictive TV-show and read more than I should.

Hi, I’m Irena!

I design the look and feel of every wedding we plan. After years in corporate marketing in Canada, I trained as a wedding designer in Vancouver, then moved my family to Split in 2009 and founded Prestiž Dizajn — a wedding design company.

What I bring to a wedding: a clear opinion about what works visually in a Croatian setting and what doesn't. Most couples come to us with mood boards. My job is to take the parts that will actually work in your specific venue, leave the rest, and add things you didn't think to ask for.

I'm also an Accredited Event Designer (Institute of Wedding and Event Design, US-certified) — which mostly means I've spent a lot of years thinking about why some weddings look extraordinary, and others look like a rented hall.

Hi, I'm Mario

I handle the logistics behind every wedding we plan — vendors, timing, transport, paperwork. The unglamorous side that needs to work for the glamorous side to happen.

My background: years running international tourism fairs and a movie festival, where I learned how to coordinate hundreds of moving parts under pressure. Weddings are calmer — usually — but the principles transfer.

What that means for your wedding: when something needs deciding mid-week, when a supplier drops out two months before, when the weather forecast changes the morning of — that's me. You'll probably never know it happened.

Football, running, biathlon (I know!) and learning to make wine and olive oil from my grandfather's small vineyard outside Split.
