Croatia wedding venues

six locations, one shortlist that actually fits

We've worked at venues across these six towns and islands below — more than once. Most couples come to us thinking they want one spot, then end up choosing a different one after we've talked through how their wedding actually works in each setting.

The venues shown here are simply a selection of places we've worked at — examples to help you explore each destination. There are many more wonderful options beyond those listed.

This page is the starting point. Pick the location you're drawn to, see what we've worked at, and we'll narrow it down from there.

A few things worth knowing before you scroll

Hvar is the most-asked-about island. It's also the most crowded in summer. The right couple loves it. The wrong couple regrets it.

Vis is the most exclusive island — gorgeous, but harder logistics for guests.

Šolta is the underdog — 60 minutes from Split by ferry, but so different. Ask us about it.

Split itself works for couples who want city access alongside the wedding setting.

Brač and Trogir are the easy choices for guest logistics without losing the island feeling.

Split is the easiest base for a Croatia wedding — international flights land here, and most of our weddings are within 90 minutes of the airport. The old town (a 1,700-year-old Roman palace, now full of restaurants and bars) makes a striking ceremony backdrop, and the city itself works for couples who want urban energy alongside the wedding setting.

Split

Hvar is the most photographed island in Croatia — and the wedding photos prove why. An hour's catamaran from Split, with the best evening light on the Adriatic. It suits couples who want energy alongside the wedding: bars, beach clubs, late nights. In July and August it gets busy with party crowds, so we usually recommend May, June, or September for the best balance of weather and calm.

Vis is the most remote of the Dalmatian islands — closed to foreigners until 1989, which is why it stayed quiet. Two and a half hours by ferry from Split, no direct flights, no big resorts. For couples who want exclusivity over convenience, it's unmatched. For couples with elderly guests or tight schedules, it's worth thinking twice.

Brač is the easiest island for guest logistics — 50 minutes by car ferry from Split, with the most accommodation options of any Dalmatian island. The famous Zlatni Rat beach is here, but the real wedding settings are the inland stone villages and olive groves. Best for couples who want the island feeling without making guests work for it.

Brac

Trogir is the closest wedding setting to the airport — 15 minutes by car. The old town is a UNESCO site built on a small island connected by stone bridges, which means everything is walking distance and the photos look unlike anywhere else. For couples who want a destination wedding without ferries or long transfers, Trogir is the answer.

Šolta is the underdog. An hour from Split by ferry, and a fraction of the crowds you'll find on Hvar or Brač. Quiet bays, working olive groves, family-run wineries — the island that hasn't been Instagrammed yet. Best for couples who want a Croatian island wedding without sharing it with anyone else.
