Split for your wedding
Split is the easiest base for a Croatia wedding. International flights land at the airport (20 minutes from the city), and most of our weddings are within 90 minutes of the runway. The old town — a 1,700-year-old Roman palace, now full of restaurants and bars — is the most striking ceremony backdrop in Dalmatia, and the city itself has real energy in the evening. Best for couples who want urban atmosphere alongside the wedding, or who want the simplest possible logistics for guests flying in.
What to know before you commit: Split is a working city, not a resort — it has real rhythm, real traffic, and real noise in peak season, especially around the old town. Most wedding receptions happen at venues slightly outside the historic centre (villas, restaurants on the peninsula, or coastal hotels) with ceremonies in the old town itself — we coordinate the movement between the two. Summer weekends get busy with cruise ship day-trippers in the old town, which we plan around when scheduling the ceremony.
If Split doesn't quite fit: Couples wanting the island-hopping feeling usually pick Brač, Hvar, or Vis. Couples wanting something calmer and more private often prefer Trogir — similar airport access, much smaller and quieter. Split is the right answer when the city itself is part of the wedding — not just the backdrop.
